There is still some planning, design, and development that needs to take place before Toolset will be fully ready for use. However, much of the underlying infrastructure is built and in place. In fact, this site is actually one piece of the infrastructure that needed to be built before Toolset is complete. This site primarily serves three purposes:
This site houses all of the original templates that will be available in Toolset. It allows us to create templates here and then export them and make them available to all sites using Toolset. The media files, such as images, that are included in templates are saved on this site and NOT imported into every other site using Toolset, which keeps sites clean and cuts down on bloat.
This site showcases what modules are available, and provides examples for how they might be used. It also showcases each of the templates included in Toolset, so they can be viewed on a fully functioning website prior to implementing them on a site. A side benefit to this is that it provides examples of how Toolset modules and templates may be used by departments/centers while they’re going through a redesign, which will hopefully speed up the planning process.
Lastly, this site includes a Change Log, which will show a running list of changes, whether they’re updates, additions, or deprecations to Toolset.
We’re excited to see this coming together, and look forward to being able to post an update once Toolset is fully ready for use.
